Aidan's Baptism

Turning 8 for us is a BIG deal! 8 is when you are old enough in our church to be baptized and it is something Aidan had been looking forward to for a long time! We had been having Family Home Evening Lessons for a few months leading up to it to learn why it's important to be baptized and what promises we are making with our Heavenly Father when we do this. It warms my heart that Aidan chose to be baptized, and I have no doubt that he will continue to grow in his desire to do those things that will make his Father in Heaven happy.

I asked Aidan if he wanted to share his feelings about his baptism and he said yes.
(If I agreed to type it.)

My baptism day was fun. I saw all my friends. The spirit made me feel nice when I got out of the water. I wanted to get baptized so I can be a member of the church and then I can be a missionary.  My dad baptized me and gave me the Holy Ghost. My friend Peyton also got baptized on the same day.

Aidan was baptized on the same day as his friend Peyton Clark.

While we missed many family members that were not able to make it, those that were able to attend besides our family were: Grandpa and Grandma Johanson, Nic, Lauren and Corbin, Holli and Dallas, and Austin.

Eight is Great!

This handsome young man turned 8 on July 21st. I seriously feel so lucky that he is a part of our family, that I'm his mom, and that he is mine forever! He bring so much joy and happiness, more than I could have imagined just 8 short years ago when he made me a Mom. Aidan is: a great big brother, an awesome reader, loves Pokémon, Beyblades and Digimon, enjoys playing outside, is sensitive and still likes to cuddle :)  Happy Birthday Aidan! We LOVE LOVE LOVE you!
Somehow breakfast in bed on your birthday has become an expected tradition is this house... no worries. I love tradition and love that the kids created this one on their own.
Breakfast in bed makes everyone happy in this house.
For his birthday dessert Aidan requested Strawberry Icebox... YUM!

Utah- Part 4

Sunday after church we decided to take the kids up the canyon for a little fresh air. It was so incredibly beautiful. It makes me wish I lived only 10 minutes from a beautiful place like this. The cousins all had a fun time exploring and just being kids.

Love this picture!

Look at that cute face!!!

Utah- Part 3

One of the things that I love most about Utah is that the kids get to spend time with my extended family... including my grandparents. I love that my kids are developing relationships with their great grandparents.
One day while in Utah Aidan wanted to help my grandpa who was out working in the garden. Grandpa Laci put him right to work organizing rope :) (and of course Grandpa paid him for his help which is a perk!)

Grandpa and Aidan

Brinn and Elli decided they wanted to help out and they got to work sweeping.
We were able visit with my grandma Johanson. So fun to see her and catch up with her!

Utah- Part 2

These pictures are spread over several days and pretty much are pictures from all our water/ park days!

Tuck was really enjoying these fries. I love the look on his face of, "Don't you even think about taking some of these fries from me."

Splash Pad Fun!

We came to play on the toys... everyone went home soaked! Oh well, that's what summer's all about.

No way is this kid going to let a sling stop him...

Okay, so now we are on to splash pad #2... I couldn't resist this picture.
The only thing Tucker wanted to do was GET OUT!
These two were in heaven!

Okay, so I couldn't resist these pictures either...:)

Holli and little Dallas came with us... we can't wait till Dallas is running and splashing right along (and as we all know, it doesn't take long.) (Okay, as another side note... is he just not the cutest little guy! Man, I love that boy... and his momma!)

Utah- Part 1

This summer we were able to take a trip to see my sisters, their families, and my extended family.(So be ready for upcoming post-overload of vacation pictures.) First stop we made was at In-N-Out. It looks like it was a hit for all. (And, yes David was there but he would not wear his cool hat so I said "Sorry Charlie. No hat, no picture!;)")

Just For Fun...
