CELEBRATION!!!

December 26th is a big day in our house... especially this year. David celebrated his 5 year cancer free mark, and in the cancer world your considered "cured" after 5 years. YEAH! Every year his health continues to be one of the biggest blessings in our lives.

He also has continued to work on school these past couple of years and is graduating this month with a Bachelors in Aviation Science from Utah Valley State College. School is finally over, and I am not sure who is more excited about this... me or him. Okay him, but it will be nice to finally have him home and all his attention. In the past when he has been home, we have had to share him with school work.

David is an amazing husband, dad, and best friend and I feel so lucky for everyday with him. (Sorry to embarrass you honey:))

A New Look!

The other day I found Brinn fast asleep just like this. I think she is trying to start a new trend with sleeping masks.

Christmas Jammies

Aidan and Brinn in there Christmas Jammies!

A Shout Out to DAD!!!

We miss you Dad! Merry Christmas!

Santa Came Early

This year we wrote a letter to Santa and asked him if he would come a couple days early since David was not going to be home on Christmas (one of the down sides of being a pilot.) Sure enough, Santa arrived on Sat. night so after church on Sunday we came home and opened gifts. Aidan's reaction to seeing the gifts was "no way." Aidan got a new toddler bed and cars, so I guess he was a nice boy this year. Brinn got an exersaucer and some other nicknack's. Aidan designated himself official present opener, luckily this year Brinn didn't argue.

This morning we watched my sister and brother open their Santa gifts, then we opened the family gifts from under the tree. Aidan once again designated himself official opener, until he opened his garbage truck and after that he didn't want to open another present... at least for a little while.(He has an obsession with garbage trucks, and lives for garbage day every week.)

My sister got a jacket that is surrounded by fur on the hood and when Aidan saw it he said, "Daisy?" (which is our ferret). He kept turning the hat around looking for her head. Then he said, "Where Daisy go?"

We feel truly blessed this Holiday Season. Hope today finds you as happy, healthy and enjoying life as much as we do. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

The Big Man

Today at Sea World we met Shamu Santa. Aidan was not quite sure about him at first but after a while warmed up to him and ended up going back a second time for a high-five.

We also met the "real" Santa the other day but didn't get a great picture. Aidan LOVES Santa. He stood in line saying "Santa, Santa," and when the kids in front of us were done he said, "Aidan's turn." He told Santa he wanted some cars... so I guess we will find out soon if he has been naughty or nice!

All Bundled up!

I know it was like 70 degrees here today but I could not help but get Brinn all bundled up in this cute outfit with the matching hat to go to Sea World today. I was taking her picture and Aidan came over and decided that he wanted to be in the picture too. So here are my cute kiddos!

Blue Dogs

Just another funny Aidanism:

Aidan's favorite new show is "blue dogs." Any guesses? I bet many of you are thinking Blues Clues, which would be the most obvious guess. Is that your final answer? Wrong...

Aidan has discovered the show smurfs, which he refers to as the "blue dogs."

Just Like His Mom

Aidan helped me and David make brownies the other day and was given the job of licking the spatula. As you can see, it's not a job he wanted but someone has to do it.

Bedtime

Aidan has been having a rough time with bedtime routines. Every night when I put him down, about 1 min. after I walk out of the room he starts crying and gets out of bed. He will then stand by the door and cry for me, but he never actually leaves his room. Tonight after about 45 min. he stopped crying and when I went up to check on him, I found him asleep like this at the end of the hall. Poor Aidan. Break my heart! Then of course the guilt sets in and I question if I handled it right or if I should have done something differently. (Mothers guilt is the worst!)

It's Been Awhile

So it's been awhile since my last entry. We are all trying to get over colds... which is not fun. The other day Aidan told me he needed a tissue and I told him to go get one and this is what he came back with (plus more which you can't see in the picture.) After a moment of anger and frustration I thought this would make a great blog story instead, so I guess the blog saved him from a timeout.

And Brinn has always been a little binky girl but has started to discover her fingers... so I could be in trouble. So far she does not seem to favor a certain finger and I am hoping it stays that way.

I Love This!!!

I love watching my kiddos sleep... especially when they are babies. They just look so peaceful. Don't get me wrong, they are so fun when they are awake but there is just something special about those quiet moments.

My Favorite Things

Aidan has said some cute things this past couple days that I couldn't resist sharing...
- We have been talking about Jesus and about how Christmas is Jesus's birthday. Well, Aidan calls Jesus "G-cus," and points out all the nativities in the neighborhood. It is just the cutest little thing.
- He now calls Brinn "Sweetheart" or "Sweetie," and when she is crying he will go over to her and say,"oh sweetheart."
- Tonight Aidan was all excited about a dog he saw in the back of someones truck and so I repeated back what he had just told me and then said, "oh my." About two seconds later he added "goodness."
- He is the most grateful little kid... "thanks for dinner momma," umm "thanks for the walk," umm "thanks for the drink," umm "thanks for santa momma," umm "thanks for toys"... all within about one min.
- Yesterday on his own Aidan came and took my hand and said, "Let's go. Ready bed." Who can argue with that? I wasn't about to.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Aidan got a hold of my camera yesterday and took about 60 pictures with it before I finally caught on to his quiet little sneakiness. Actually I heard him ask Abbi the cat, "a see it Abbi?" (Every time I take his picture he asks me, "a see it"). So I am assuming he thought he was taking her picture. These were a few of my favorites.

And You Think Your Cold???

I was organizing my pictures and came across these of David last winter in Barrow, Alaska. (The northern most point in the United States.) As you can see it was a little cold there, mostly -25/-30 degrees. Anyways, I got a laugh from these pics and thought you might too.

Brinn's Grins

Here are some pictures of Brinn smiling. She is such a happy baby, especially just after she has eaten. All you have to do is rub your finger on her cheek or chin and she breaks out into a huge grin. And oh those cheeks...

Sea World with Britt

We actually were able to have season passes this year to Sea World, which is about 25 minutes away from our house. This past weekend my cousin Britt was in town so we decided to take her there. It was also Brinn's first time coming with us. The weather was perfect and we all had a fun time. Thanks Britt for coming to visit... you are welcome any time.

Just For Fun...
