Birthday... Part 2

THE PARTY

Instead of throwing a big party, we decided to go with my family to Six Flags and we took one of Aidan's best buddies, Logan with us. We hit up a couple of the favorite rides and then went to the water park for a couple of hours. We had a fun time and Aidan was happy to have a friend there.

Next we busted out the party hats (Aidan loves party hats!), and everyone wore them at Red Robin for dinner.

One tired birthday boy!

THE BIRTHDAY!... Thanks for all the fun gifts everyone!

THE CAKE... Superman as requested by Aidan!

THE BIKE... Batman, as also requested by Aidan (Which cracks me up because he has never seen any shows that have to do with these action figures... I guess boys will be boys.)

And at the end of the day I asked Aidan what his favorite gift was and he said,
"My pack of gum."
GO FIGURE!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AIDAN!

A sweet little boy since the day he was born!

It's no surprise that the number one comment Aidan has gotten since he was born has to do with those big blue eyes!

I couldn't help but sneak in a picture of Aidan and Uncle Nic who is on his mission in Georgia. We can't wait for him to come home in Oct. It's so cute because sometimes I will ask him, "Who loves you?" expecting him to say me or David, but he almost always says "Uncle Nic" followed by "Uncle Thomas."

Pilot in training!

Below: Aidan last year on his Birthday! You know how they say... "It seems like just yesterday." I mean, this literally seems like just yesterday.

Happy Birthday Buddy! We sure do love you to pieces!

Oh Aidan!

Aidan turns three in a couple days and I started to reflect on some of the things I won’t miss about the TerribleTwos. These are all things that have happened in the last couple days:

- Aidan wants to take a bubble bath and I tell him “after daddy leaves.” A few minutes later out of nowhere this is the conversation:
“Dad.”
“Yeah Buddy.”
“Leave.”

- After a day of Aidan trying my patience, I tell him:
“Your making mommy sad because your not listening.” (Okay… nobody can MAKE another person feel a certain way, but you get the idea.)
“I’ll make you happy mom… in a couple minutes.”

-Normally Aidan says the prayer all by himself but this particular day he wanted me to help him so I would say something and he would repeat it.
Me- “Please bless the food that it will make us strong and healthy.”
Aidan- Looks up, “I don’t want to bless the food.” (With the biggest attitude you can imagine.

What I will miss about him being little:

- I said to Aidan “Come here honey.”
“I’m not the honey (I’m thinking here we go with the attitude) I’m the jam. And you’re the bread.”
We always talk about family sandwiches and what everyone is.

- “Thanks for dinner mom. It was wonderful.”

- “Mom, I WANT to cuddle with you.”

WARNING...

WARNING... The following picture may be unsuitable for young adults and children.

Sadly, we are having a modesty problem with Brinn already. We knew that these were challenges we might face one day as parents but we were clearly taken off guard when she started this behavior so early. Due to her army crawling she is continually bearing cleavage(sometime more.) The solution is simple... tuck up your little knees, push up, and crawl girl. But alas she refuses!

So for now just know that if you are around us you risk the chance of a little "peep show." Consider yourself warned.

So It's Genetic?!??!!?!?!?

Anyone that knows me well knows I have an obsession with pinching my ears. I have done it ever since I or my mom can remember, and it drives her and David nuts! I take my ear lobe and pinch it between my finger and fingernail... often drawing blood and leaving my ears scabbed over. I do this when I am nervous, deep in thought, tired, etc.

About 6 months ago Aidan started to play with these two tiny bumps he has on one of his ears that he was born with. He plays with it when he's nervous, deep in thought, tired, etc. Well, this playing turned to rubbing, which turned to picking, which turned to bleeding, which turned to scabs, which led to... a band aid. I am going to try to take care of this before it becomes a life-habit like mine. Aidan sports his band aid with pride and loves to tell people about his owie, but it seems to be working so far.

So I am guess all these years people have been after me to stop this obsession when in reality it was something I could not help... it's clearly genetic.

Tag... Your it!

I have been tagged by two different people (thanks ladies!) so here it goes:

Ok the rules are: list 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions, and 3 random surprising facts about yourself. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their name.

Joys:
1. My husband, kids, family, and friends
2. Scrapbooking
3. Having the gospel

Fears:
1. Something terrible happening to someone in my family
2. Gaining baby weight that I actually have to exercise away (oh wait, that's me now, minus the exercising part)
3. My home burning down with all my scrapbooks and Journals in it! Ahhhhh! (Stealing this answer from Mo but YES... such a fear!)

Goals:
1. Get my scrapbooking caught up... one day!
2. Lose baby weight... plus some!
3. Become more of a neat freak... obsessive cleaner!

Current obsessions:
1. Blogging.... posting, reading friends and strangers, composing in my head, etc.!
2. Reality TV shows... I have a sickness
3. Projects... anything to make me feel busy, productive, and creative

Random surprising facts about me:
1. I was electrocuted as a child. :)
2. I want to adopt a child from Ecuador one day (Where David served his mission)
3. I love sweets, oh wait... I don't think that is a surprise to anyone that knows me.

So who to tag??? Have fun ladies!

1. JJ, even if it's not till you get home
2. Kathleen
3. Mandi
4. Heather Hamm
5. Kari-Lynn

Don't feel obligated!

Here's a tag, play if you want:
Here are the directions: 1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! 2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Confession...

I have a confession... I am a reality show addict. (I am not even going to go into last nights Bachelorette Finale!) I just can't get enough! Probably one of my top three favorite shows is going on right now... So You Think You Can Dance. I look forward to this all year as they only have this show once a year during the summer. If your not a fan, you should be because you are missing out. It's not too late to get hooked and I have included my three favorite dances of the season so far to catch you up! (Mostly I have put them on here so I can come and watch them over and over again without having to search for them every time I need a fix!)
PS... You might want to pause music at bottom of screen to get the full effect.

Background: He gets his letter to be deployed

Background: He's a work-a-holic and she's trying to get him to stay with her

Background: This is interpretive but I think if you listen to the words it has to do with how there are so many kids out there in bad homes and unloved

You can find this show on FOX Wed. nights and the results shows are on Thurs.

A Day At The Circus!

The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus is in town and we thought it would be so fun to take Aidan and Brinn. My parents, brother, sister and their friends ended up coming and it was such a blast! Aidan just loved it!

A boy who loves his animals!

Proud Grandparents

Aidan was so taken back by the clown that he refused to look at the camera.

After seeing a couple more clowns he was a little more comfortable and this time gave me a big smile.

Aidan and Daddy!

Although Brinn did watch a little of the show, this is how she spent most of it.

Derek, Holli (my sister), Sami, Austin (my brother), and Aidan as the center of attention!

SO MUCH FUN!

4th of July

(One of the many failed attempts of the two together.)

We had a fun but low-key 4th of July. David was out of town for the day so I took the kids to the pool at my parents house and then we went to dinner with my family.

Our Army Crawler

Brinn has been army crawling for quite awhile but I thought I wold put a little clip of it on here for you to see her in action.

Just For Fun...
