She Can Sit

I can't believe how big Brinn is getting. I know almost every blog I post I say that but I am constantly surprised at the new things she is doing. When Aidan was little, I would just watch and wait for every new milestone. With Brinn, I guess I am just so busy taking care of the two of them that is seems like those milestones just sneak up on me. Anyways, Brinn can now sit up with a little help from the boppy, and manages to keep her falling over to a minimum.

I've Created A Monster

Yesterday we were at the store and they have a little arcade section where you can play games or ride the little rides. Aidan wanted to play with the race car but I did not have any money and felt bad. On an impulse I asked him if he wanted to go home and play daddy's game on x-box. He said yes and when we came home I put on a racing game. Well, he asks to play it all the time and he has yet to complete even one lap on it. I taught him that green means go and blue means go back, so he spends all his time running into a wall, reversing into another wall, and then going forward into the same wall. It's actually pretty funny to watch him try to play, but I am hoping this is not the beginning of the end.

Melt My Heart

"Your my best buddy, my favorite friend
We'll always be pals, from now till the end!"

I love watching Aidan and Brinn together. He is so sweet and gentle with her and she just thinks he hung the stars.

Oh Aidan!

A couple quick things about Aidan.
- Yesterday he locked me out of the house. I left him and Brinn(crying) in the house so that I could move the sprinkler. When I tried to come in, I found I was locked out. I had no idea that he could reach the dead-bolt, let alone know how to use it. I talked to him through the window, almost in tears begging him to open it and trying to explain to him what he needed to do. After a few long minutes he managed to open it... he is lucky he is so cute!
- Today when driving by the temple Aidan said he was going to go to the temple to see Je-cus. My mom and I were sitting there thinking how cute that was. Then he told us again he was going to go to the temple and see Je-cus and Santa Clause. I guess we have some more work to do.
- Today Aidan asked me if he could go "play in the snow" (meaning the sand pile next to our house.) Poor kid has forgotten about snow already.

Elder Jo-Handsome

My brother Nic sent this Valentines day card home from his mission to my family. It is about the size of Brinn, and was filled with all sorts of fun pics of him. The back of the card read "What up fam- Just wanted to tell ya that yalls are my Valentines. I love ya and know that these pictures have been placed with love. Also know that I love this work and that the true joy comes from watching one of God's children enter into his fold. Although the pics might say otherwise, I just didn't want to cut the ones that mean the most. I love you and hope all is well. Love Elder Nic Boyd Johanson" We are so proud of him and his willingness to serve. I just thought it would be fun for my family to be able to share in this special valentine. (If you double click on each picture, it will show up even larger.)

Five Months Old

Today Brinn is five months old. I can't believe how fast the time goes by. In some ways it's sad to see them growing out of their cute little clothes, but in other ways it is so fun to see them getting more of a personality and becoming their own little person. Brinn is such a joy! We feel blessed everyday to have her as part of our family.

My Two "Babies"

A Lifetime of Shoes

Moving into our house I found a box of Aidan's old clothes and I found his shoes from the past two summers. I put them next to his new shoes for this summer. It made me so sad to see his little shoes from when he was a year old, and now look a t how big his shoes are. I dont know what it is but when ever I put new shoes on him he looks so much bigger.

Valentine's Day

This year for Valentine's Day David got me this beautiful plant for our front yard. I told him a couple years ago that every once in a while flowers are nice, but I would rather have a plant or something that will last awhile. Good job hun!

Oh yes, that's a sharpie!

We have been in our house for less than 24 hours and Aidan managed to get a hold of a sharpie and proceeded to draw on the office door, wall, and another door. He was even in the same room as me and I only had my back turned to him for about 30 seconds. I couldn't believe it. He is just into everything and it is impossible to keep him out because right now there are still boxes and stuff everywhere. Even worse was that I put him in a time-out for it and he thought it was funny and laughed the whole time he was sitting there. AAahhh!

She's A Finger Sucker

Here is a cute little clip of Brinn sucking her fingers, and Aidan showing his airplane off.

So We Were Thinking....

We were thinking that since we have a new house... we might as well get a new dog to go along with it.

(Double click on the play button... even though you can't see anything right now it should work. You might want to mute music)

Actually, we found "Twinkers" (named by Aidan from a Care Bears Movie) and another little dog running on the side of a busy road. We stopped to rescue them but the other one wouldn't come to us. This little guy did and was so sweet! So we took him home and enjoyed him until animal control came to get him. I am sure some family will be worried sick when they realize he is missing. Don't worry, they assured us that they would hold him for 3 days to be claimed and then he would go up for adoption (not put to sleep), otherwise we would have had them give him back to us if no one claimed him (which I am sure someone will because he is the sweetest little dog, and I don't even like Chi Wawa's.) We also gave him the location where we the other little dog was so hopefully they will be able to find it. Anyways, it was fun to have a dog, even for just a short little time.

It's Official

We are so excited! We just closed on our first house this past Monday and we'll be moving in this weekend. I will put pictures on here of the inside as soon as all our stuff is in, but for now here's a peek at what we now call HOME!
