Fort Day

Aidan loves to play. All day long we hear, "play dada," or "play momma." He even asks us to play while we are playing with him. And of course he always wants to play the same things over and over, the most requested being trains. Well honestly, David and I are sick of train! The other day Aidan was asking David to play trains, so to avoid the trains again he and Aidan built a fort. They both had a good time... I am actually not sure who enjoyed it more.

Aidan-isms

Today I was catching up Aidan's journal with some fun things about him and I thought that you might enjoy.
- Aidan loves "chocolate Nilk" and gets it from grandpa whenever he is home. And while we are on the subject of milk, Aidan only refers to milk as "letche." If he says he wants "letche" and you repeat back, "you want some milk?" he says "no, letche."
- Aidan has an obsession with the dark, and waits for it all day. When it is dark, he then goes on walks with the moon with my mom to the mailbox followed by shadow dancing. (Dancing in the spotlight, which cast shadows on the wall)
- Every time he says Brinn's name it sounds like he is saying friend. "Frin" He is so loving with her, almost too loving. I have to remind him to give her some space because she needs to breath.
- Aidan greets his "friends" (all of my brother 16-17 year old friends, the missionaries, etc) by saying "Sup dude."
- His new favorite saying is "do dat," or "don't do dat."
- When Brinn goes to the bathroom (which is quite loud) he says, "Frin poot." And once again, since we are on the subject of going to the bathroom, we are in the process of trying to potty-train. When I sit him on the potty he immediately says, "its stuck" and then he's ready to get off. No trying involved yet. Any help with ideas would be great! We are currently bribing with the gumball machine, with no luck.
- Aidan has mastered opening doors, and now climbs out of his bed (which was cute the first time he did it... not so cute when he opens and shuts his bedroom door for an hour and a half when he is supposed to be taking a nap.
- He loves airplanes, has since he could say some of his first words (buffpane) but he can now identify several types of planes including: jets, biplanes, float planes, Cessna's, and then he has two planes which he named tricky plane and Jake. All other planes that do not fall into those categories are called "Dada's plane."

Well, these are just some of the little things we love about Aidan. The list goes on, but if you want to know about some of the other cute things he does, you will just have to come and visit and see how fun he really is.

Brinn's Blessing

This weekend was Brinn's blessing day at church. We were lucky to be able to have my grandparents, David's parents, and his sister Tami and her son Mekhi come and visit from out of town. It was fun seeing everyone and we are so happy that they were able to come. The blessing was beautiful, Brinn looked so cute in her little dress, and was a little angel all day.

Carving Pumpkins

This year David was designated the official pumpkin carver, and Aidan and I were the seed sorters. The next day we cooked up the seeds and we were surprised to find that Aidan actually liked them. (He is the pickiest eater I have ever seen... he does not even like french fries, what kid doesn't like french fries?)

Ward Trunk-or-Treat

(I hate that I am finding this blogging thing way too addicting!) Tonight was our ward trunk-or-treat and so I thought I would show you some pictures from our photo shoot. Right now when we tell Aidan to smile for pictures he squints his eyes, so these are pretty much the only smiling pictures we got of him. Aidan was a football player and Brinn of course was a doll... Okay so we took the easy route with her. Aidan loved the party and as we went from car to car he said, "Please, please trick-o-treat."

Brinn is getting SO Big!

Brinn is getting so strong! She has been holding her head up for quite a long time, and she loves being on her tummy! She is also at the stage where she is starting to smile, but it's still takes a lot of concentration. I am trying to force myself to not get the camera out and spend the next week trying to catch a smile. So anyways, I am going to try to attach a video clip to this so you might want to turn the volume off on the slide show so you can hear her little goo.

Aidan's favorite new thing!

Aidan has just discovered gum. He loves it and he asks for it everyday of course. He actually ends up chewing it for several hours and every time you ask him to see his gum, he takes on the task of finding it and putting it on his tounge.

I Can't Believe I am Doing This!

When I started to get links to everyone's cute blogs I told myself and friends "I am never going to do one of those. I can't even keep up with scrapbooking." And here I am. It reminds me of when flare pants were coming back into style and Kathleen and I swore we would never wear pants like that. Well, you guessed it, months later we had both caved into the fashion. So needless to say I am going to give it a try. Hope you enjoy looking at pictures of my cute kiddos and getting updates on daily life, and hopefully I will enjoy it enough to keep it up!

Just For Fun...
