To the class of 2023!!!

Can you believe that my little guy is already through his first year of school?!? I can't! I really could not have asked for a better first experience with learning or a better teacher... which go hand-in-hand in my book. Mrs. Craighead was AMAZING and Aidan loved her!

Aidan learned so much this year and actually got the award for most improved overall in his class. We are so proud of him. (Aidan and friend Sami.)

Aidan was in the monkey class, and while next year he may not be in the monkey class anymore, he will always be my little monkey. Congrats Aidan Boy!

Mother's Day!

Mother's Day was GREAT! David was out of town (Bummer) but the kids stepped up and made sure it was a special day for me. It started at 6:30am when the kids asked me if they could get me my mother's day cards that they had made with dad and hidden away. I was shocked! Good secret keepers I have! David asked the kids different questions about me, mother's, and mother's day. My favorite question was: How old is mom? Aidan: I don't know. Brinn: Is she 4? Aidan: No, I think she is 61.

They then insisted I stayed in bed so they could make me breakfast in bed... (of course I snuck out for a picture)

... my breakfast: bagel with syrup, puppy chow(chocolate-peanut butter chex,) and grapes. They were originally discussing making me a bagel with chocolate, ice cream, and sprinkles. My kids know me well!

They then put on a show for me (all of this occurred before 7:30am)...

Brinn didn't want me taking pictures of her dancing but here she is all ready to go.

Let's not forget this little man who makes me smile...

The best picture I could get using the timer... Blurry, chopped off head, but still cute!

And of course me and my mom. I love her so much and am so thankful for her! Anyone that knows my mom knows what an amazing person she is! Love you mom!

Love these kids of mine!

Yard Make-over!

So, we just recently did a little make-over on the front yard. Here is the before:

(FYI- House is no longer on the market, this was just the only picture I had of the yard before. We decided to stay here for at least a few more years and I couldn't be happier.)

I always HATED (and that's a strong word) the bushes. It made everything feel so enclosed and 7-8 months out of the year the leaves would become a light green and the whole thing would look dead. So those had to go! And you can't see from this picture but back in the corner behind the bushes in front of the window there was a small spot of grass that did not grow anything but weeds. So we had to do something with that space.

And here are some after shots:

Of course the plants are babies and will grow quite a bit to fill things in a little.

(Notice the Mini in the driveway... can't wait to share my mechanic Tiffani story with you.)

I even have some beautiful roses growing!

It's amazing how much a little change changes everything :) I feel like now the house really reflects "us."

Photo Shoot...

The other day Brinn wanted to take some pictures with my camera. For about 20 min. we enjoyed our time snapping away. and some good mother daughter time.

She even posed me...

... but only because I posed her first. Kids learn so quickly. :)

Makes me happy...

You know how sometimes you can just look at something and it makes you happy? Well, that's what this new sign on my front door does for me. The other day I even asked David to just drive by the house (not pull in the driveway, but to do a drive-by instead)so I could admire the sign. He wouldn't so I did one on foot anyways. Then my sis-in-law called me "Boyd Jr." (my father) and I realized it was true. I totally sounded like my dad in that moment. Well, anyways... that's a story for another day. Now you know what makes me happy... What makes you happy?

And stay tuned for some pictures to come of our front yard make-over!

Just For Fun...
