Latest Project!

These were my kitchen chairs... covered in fabric of some kind. Mind you, I think we would have been smart enough to get chairs with no fabric years ago when we got our table, but this was given to us for free and was practically like new.

So anyways... YUCK! Spills, paint... you name it... it's probably on that chair.

Bought this table cover at Walmart for $3.00. The kids used the extra for a picnic...

While we worked on this...

It's vinyl so all spills wipe off (Yeah!) It probably won't last very long but for $3.00 not bad! A much needed improvement!

Brinn's Birthday...

Brinn ended up having a great birthday! Every time I asked whose birthday it was she would say "me" and she sang "happy birthday to Brinny" all day so I think she "got it."
We started off the day making some cupcakes... what a helper!

We finished off the afternoon with a trip to Chuck E Cheese and later dinner with my family... sadly no pictures were taken.

If you ask Brinn how old she is she will tell you "three." I don't know about you but I am okay if she wants to skip the terrible twos! :)

WARNING!!!

This could be one of those TMI(Too much information) posts but several people have wondered how I went 13 weeks without knowing I was pregnant and for journaling purposes... here I go!

I had my (BC) removed in May and had some bleeding in June. Fine. July comes and I have one day of bleeding. Fine. I figured it was just my body trying to get regulated. August came and I calculated. If the bleeding in July was a period, then I was late. I waited a few more days to take the test because David was out of town and I did not want to have to keep it a secret very long. Took test. Positive. Yeah! I scheduled a doctors appointment. Told David a day or two later... again Yeah! The day after I told David we went into the Doctor. He asked me if I had any guesses as to how far along I was? No... not really. He started the ultrasound and up popped this little baby on the screen. I'm am not sure what I was expecting to see but I was not expecting to see fingers and toes and baby's hand up by it's mouth(so cute already.) The doctor was surprised as well. He announced "you have a baby in there." And sure enough after doing measurements it was determined I was 13 weeks and 4 days along. Yeah! First trimester over and done! Due date... Feb. 26th!

Looking back, I have been pregnant since early June. People ask "did you not feel sick?" Not really! There were times I felt gross and decided I needed to eat something but thought it was just me wishing I was pregnant or thinking I was when I was not. And as far as the bleeding goes, I did bleed with both my other kids early on in the pregnancy, so that kind of answers that.

I am planning on doing this again with any future pregnancies I might have... skipping one whole trimester of waiting is great! :) And it is going to go by fast with all the excitement of the holiday and then it will be right around the corner.

So, thanks for sticking with me through this TMI post. Stay tuned... 2 weeks and we have our ultrasound. Boy or Girl?

Ukraine- Day 2

Here are the pictures for the last day of the trip...
Daivd's dad has a Russian tutor/ translator named Alex that he works with a couple times a week. He took the day off work to show us around this town that is about 1/2 hour away from Daivd's Dads town.

Here is our traditional Ukraine breakfast that he made for us. The bread in the middle of the table looks like it has big chunks of butter on it... it is actually lard. They eat it in slabs. David ate the whole thing, his mom ate a small bite, and my bite was about the size of a tick-tac.

Above mentioned lard being sold at the market. There was a whole room full of this stuff.

On our tour...

David and I in front of the underground tunnels that monks used to live in and hide from army's... this was very cool! They have remains still down here that are hundreds of years old and the tunnels are said to now be haunted. Very creepy!

A "park" full of rolling hills that are actually covered gravestones. There was a period of time when religion was banned so all the gravestones were supposed to be destroyed. People of the church came and buried them before this could happen and it is still this way today.

Well, now you are caught up with our adventures from our trip. We flew home first class (very fun) and from the time we left David's dads cottage till the time I got to San Antonio it was 30 hours. We were very exhausted but we had a great time and it was worth it. Thanks Alan and Lynda for such a fun time!

2 years ago today...


Happy Birthday Brinn. We love you so much and every day you bring more joy, happiness, and laughs to us than we could ever have imagined!

Ukraine- Day 1

We left Hungary and made it to Ukraine the next day. We took a three hour drive to the SMALL town of Slavutich where David's dad lives. It was every interesting to see how he is living.

This is the only restaurant in town... very good and very cheap. It really is targeted to the foreigners that are in town working on the Chernobyl project.

Hungary- Day 2

We spent a lot of day 2 on a guided tour which was interesting but contained way too much historical information for me to keep anything straight. This was us in front of their Parliament building. We actually went inside and it was beautiful.

At a nice little cafe. We had borch (very good) and found the food pretty good.

Down along the river they have this memorial to Jews that were killed during WWII. They were shot here and then pushed into the river. Very sad!

Have I told you that David is considering a new career?

We went to a concert that night and then walked across the bridge back to our hotel...

Very romantic...

Did I mention that that night, me, David, and both his parents shared a king bed... now that's romantic :)

Hungary- Day 1

After traveling in First class (me) and David in the back (hubby of the year award ladies?!?) plus one more short flight we arrived in Hungary. Our time clocks were all messed up but we figured the best way to fight that was by staying up and busy!

David's parents had taken a tour of some sites, and so David's Dad turned around and played tour guide to us while sharing all the information he had learned... for anyone who knows Alan that is right up his alley.

And that was Day 1 in a nut shell. David and I passed out around 7:30 for the night until I work up at around 11:30pm and was up till about 3:00ish. NICE!
